Parker and Fabio Wardley Ready for ‘All or Nothing’ Clash with Shot at Usyk on the Table

The sport of boxing has been a significant decline this period, with few major fights and far less thrilling fights than usual. Wardley, a former white-collar slugger, who only began his boxing career when he was twenty, had zero amateur background and has consistently faced questions regarding his technical limitations. But he is also on the verge to a opportunity for the championship.

“This is the biggest bout, right now, in the heavyweight division. Both these fighters have stepped up when neither fighter had to agree to this match. Parker is the interim champion and they have already ordered the champion to fight him, but he was hurt. Joseph wants to fight anyway.

“Wardley is also in a fantastic position and he merely needed to be patient for his opportunity. He said ‘No, thanks.’ He chose to box – and versus Parker because it offers him an opportunity to jump the queue.”

Parker's Viewpoint

Parker, who turns 34 in January, said: “It's win or go home. I am not considering defeat. I have respect for my rival and his accomplishments and his preparation for this fight. But I am on a higher plane and I am planning to demonstrate it on the day of the bout.”

Wardley’s Outlook

Wardley will be 31 in December, and he said: “It is a massive night for the two of us. It is clearly the most significant bout of my career and the most important fight ever. But whenever I face a tougher opponent I rise to the occasion. Saturday will be no exception. The separation between where Joe is and my perceived standing has been a frequent topic in my boxing life.

“He has been going around the block for a considerable period, with a lot of fights on his resume. By no means is he an old man but he has been in the game for a while and had numerous grueling matches. I've also endured brutal fights and I know they put miles on the clock. He has been in a significantly more of those compared to me.”

But the lingering doubt persists that Parker will be too experienced, and too skilful, for his opponent. He is favored to secure a grueling encounter with the confidence that he is the leading contender for the champion Usyk – the undisputed best in the division by a clear gap.
