Prosecutors have stated that a former physician now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One senior prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
These allegations come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
