Fans Urge Detainment of Individual Who Seized Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande visited Singapore for the Asia-Pacific premiere of Wicked: For Good

Devoted fans of the actress are urging that a man who jumped a barrier and grabbed the actress during Thursday's Wicked: For Good debut be taken into custody or removed from Singapore.

A circulating video depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the actors proceeded down a event pathway flanked by onlookers.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo quickly pulled the stunned performer away from Mr Wen, who was observed being escorted out of the premiere by security officers.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram recently that he was "released after being arrested", though court documents revealed that he was due to appear on the next day. It is unknown if he was charged.

Record of Event Invasions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Troll Most Hated", has invaded a performance. His Instagram profile contains recordings of him disrupting other celebrity events, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in June this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last December.

"Measures must be taken enforced against him as this is evidently a punishable act," commented an Instagram commenter, in a reply to a video Mr Wen shared of his act.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user questioned.

Followers Show Disapproval Over Ariana's Safety

Many followers accused Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had discussed suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her May 2017 concert in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming hundreds.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented another response on Instagram.

Some fans also faulted security officers at the premiere for not being adequately prepared; while others requested digital services to remove Mr Wen's content.

Response and Premiere Information

In footage shared widely, Grande seemed startled when she was grabbed by the intruder. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed comforting her while Mr Wen was led out by guards.

Grande has not commented on the incident, and the premiere activities carried on uninterrupted.

Numerous of fans had congregated in a mass of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific premiere in a Singapore venue, including some who had stood in line for as long as a significant duration before it started.

The movie, to be launched on 21 November, is the follow-up of a two-part adaptation of the popular theatrical musical Wicked, which focuses on the surprising relationship between two distinct characters.

The musical itself is a derivative of the twentieth-century story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was adorned in a light pink glittering gown at the premiere while Erivo, who plays the Elphaba, wore a elegant ensemble decorated with roses.

They were alongside fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the top-earning movie of last year in the UK, and received ten Oscar nominations, earning two for excellent wardrobe and set decoration.
